Todayʼs hero, 17-year-old Ruziev Asadbek, was born in Termiz, Surkhandarya region. He is a graduate of secondary school No. 225. There are several fully-funded scholarships to study abroad. Our hero chose the most suitable one among the universities and noted that he will start studying robotics engineering at Arizona State University in the United States of America in August 2023.
He has been working with robotics since he was 13 years old. Despite his young age, he founded the startup company "BESTARORG" and founded such startup projects as the “Ecobot” startup and robot system, the “Eyemed” mobile application, and the “Adiblar” electronic program translated into 4 languages. In an interview with IT Park, our hero talked about his entry into the industry, his collective projects, and future plans.
What motivated you to choose the IT industry?
The IT company I created and robotics projects, as well as the international olympiads, won with my team and cash prizes in the amount of $10,000, giving us the motivation to work in the direction of robotics that we have chosen.
Creating projects in robotics and selling them required investment and funds at the beginning and I created my first projects when I was 13-15 years old my dad always sponsored me in my projects and then I received the prize money from my projects and various equipment (2 TVs, 2 laptops, 2 vacuum cleaners, 2 phones, a tablet, and other valuable gifts) and robotic equipment worth $11,200 for our team, i.e. Arduino, Lego Mindstorms ev3, and a total of $10,000 in prize money won from international competitions.
What IT courses have you completed?
At first, I completed the 6-month robotics courses of my teacher Shahrukh Mirzayev at the “Nasaf Ilm Maskani” training center and organized the IT team. After attending this teacher's first class, I was preparing for the next class at night, and I realized that my interest was growing and I was growing in understanding and knowledge of each Arduino component, and I realized that robotics is my future field.
To date, I have won a total of $10,300 in prize money at the International Robotics and Startup Olympiad. I am currently working on improving my startup projects first and then selling more robots to farmers and other business owners. And in order to keep my company and business going, I will continue to learn from my soon-to-be-started university, Arizona State University.
How did you win admission to universities in the United States?
I have been admitted to 4 American universities on full 100% scholarships. The universities I admitted are globally ranked among TOP #156 and TOP #15 universities in the international QS ranking.
Universities where I received a full scholarship:
In the summer of 2022, I was admitted to Vin University in Vietnam, which has an American partnership and background with IVY league universities of the USA like Cornell University, and the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). The interdisciplinary engineering and medicine program at VinUni was established with Cornell and Penn (Global Rank Top-15).
I also received an almost full scholarship that covered my full demonstrated financial need for all 4-years at Vin University. This scholarship is worth an overall $102000.
As a student at Vin University, I was eligible to study at [3+2] Cornell-VinUniversity or UPenn-VinUniverdity Accelerated Degree, M.S. Degree Program in Systems/Mechanical Engineering.
I also received acceptance and financial aid from the “El Yurt Umidi” foundation which is Arizona State University education's full cost of attendance, housing, meals, round trip, and stipend. Arizona State University has ranked as #1 for innovations in the USA.
In November 2022, Bard College in New York accepted me immediately after reading my application for admission. I also received a full 4 year $250000 scholarship that covers the full cost of tuition and fees.
In February 2023, I was admitted to Illinois Wesleyan University with a full scholarship covering the whole cost of tuition fees. I received a full 100% scholarship to study for my 4-year bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Physics.
Meeting with the President
When I met with President Shavkat Miromonovich in 2021, he was proud of the projects I created and the presence of my wonderful team. Additionally, Nejmettin Bilal Erdoğan, a graduate of Harvard University and a well-known businessman, also met with my team. The “ADIBLAR” application, which contains the works and poetry collections of Alisher Navoi, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, and other ancestors created by our team, has users all over the world.
What are your thoughts on future plans, goals, and changes in the industry?
In the future, I would like to continue working on the projects of the BESTARORG IT and robotics company in Uzbekistan, developing robots and improving them.
My education is not just for myself, but also for the betterment of my community and country. My dream of continuing to build a better future for Uzbekistan through technology and innovation is truly inspiring, and we do not doubt that we will make a significant impact with our skills and knowledge. Code By Code we are building the future for Uzbekistan!
Asadbek shows by his example that anyone with passion can become IT specialist. The main thing is to strive, work, and interest in learning. And IT Centers help to realize these goals. Maybe you will be the next hero of our column?
